Downloading the extension is super easy; in fact all you have to do is open Google Chrome on your computer, visit the Google Chrome web store, and download the Grammarly app by clicking “Add to Chrome.”
Once you have added the extension to Google Chrome, Grammarly will begin proofreading everything you share online, whether it be a Facebook status, a Tweet, or an email. You can now share your opinions, thoughts, and comments with confidence.

As of September 2018, the masterminds behind Grammarly have announced that they will also be releasing a beta version of Grammarly for Chrome for Google Docs users.
Prior to September, you could only use Grammarly as an extension of your web browser or you could copy and paste text into the Grammarly editor (which can be found on the Grammarly site, after you create an account.) The Grammarly editor is very helpful for proof-reading long bodies of text such as a paper or a draft of a lengthy email but with this new Google Doc tool, users will be able to use Grammarly to proofread their Google Docs. This is great news for bloggers and agencies that use Google Docs to collaborate on projects.
Now, in order to edit your Google Docs using Grammarly, you will need to be using Google Chrome as your web browser and you will want to download the Google Chrome extension mentioned above. Upon opening a document in Google Docs, a pop-up will appear notifying you that you have been given access to the beta.
Simply check for the Grammarly logo in the bottom right corner and voila! With just a few simple downloads, you can be well on your way to becoming the best writer in your office!
