As Black Friday nears, the biggest stores have revealed what prices they’re going to cut. Here are the best smart home deals so far announced by Target.
The deals highlighted in this post were independently selected and do not contain affiliate links. If Fitbit smart trackers are also of interest, check out my round-up of Black Friday Fitbit deals here which has already been updated. I’ve also rounded up the best Apple Watch deals so far.
Target’s Black Friday prices go live from 5PM on Thanksgiving until 1AM that night, re-opening Friday morning at 7AM. Here’s my pick of the best smart home products from Google, Nest, Amazon, Roku and Ring.
Nest Protect – the elegant and powerful smoke and carbon monoxide sensor, either the battery or wired version, is reduced by $20.99, to $99 instead of $119.
Nest Cam Indoor, the neat security camera, is reduced from $199.99 to $129, saving you $70.99.
Alternatively, you can pick up the Ring video doorbell, which is reduced from $149.99 to $99.99, that’s $50 off. It’s not currently on the Target site, so I’ll add the link when it appears.
Google Home Mini
The small smart speaker from Google is reduced to $25 instead of $49, saving $24.
Google Home is slashed from $129 to $79, a $50 haircut.
And the even better, and just-released, Google Home Hub is also cut by $50, a great saving for such a new gadget. It’ll be $99 instead of $149.
Amazon Echo Dot – well, there are two to choose from at Target, the latest third-generation model reduced from $49.99 to $24, a $25.99 saving.
Or the previous model, the Gen 2 Echo Dot, which is $5 cheaper at $19.99, a $20 saving. The newer model is better, please note.
A bigger discount is available on the Amazon Echo – the latest, second-generation model. Normally $99.99, it’s reduced by $30.99 to $69.
Amazon Fire TV Stick is reduced for Black Friday to $24.99, a $15 saving on the regular $39.99 price. Note that this is not the 4K TV Stick, so it works best for HD TVs (it’ll still work with 4K TVs but the content won’t be native 4K). Still, it comes with the Alexa Voice Remote.
Google Chromecast Video
The video streamer, in charcoal, is reduced by $10 from $35 to $25.
Or try the Google Chromecast Ultra, the one that’s friendly with 4K, which has $20 knocked off the price, from $69 to $49.
If you prefer the Roku streaming system, there’s the Roku Ultra Streaming Player, with a smart remote that lets you plug headphones into it, for private listening, for $49.99, that’s less than half the regular price of $99.99, a $50 saving.
A cheaper alternative is the Roku Streaming Stick with voice remote, which clocks in at $29.99, a $20 saving on the regular $49.99 price.
Amazon’s affordable tablets are at even keener prices for Black Friday. The basic 7-inch screened tablet, Amazon Fire 7, will be ridiculously cheap, $20 off the regular $49.99 price, just $29.99.
The Amazon Fire 7 Kids Edition, the one with 16GB storage that comes with a colorful protective bumper is also reduced, from $99.99 to $69.99, so $30 off.
And if you want a larger screen, the Amazon Fire HD 10 is $99.99, that’s $50 off the usual $149.99 price.
I’ll be updating this post as things are added or run out of stock, so please check back when you see the word Updated in the headline!
